¡§Journal of Chinese Ritual, Theatre and Folklore¡¨ was established by Shih Ho-Cheng Folk Culture Foundation in 1980. During the early stage, the Journal was devoted to the preservation and report of folk custom and culture. From 1990 on, at the edition consultant, Academia SINICA¡¦s academician, Li Yiyan¡¦s suggestion, the Journal expanded its research scope to China, and developed its research view to cross-field, cross-subject cultural phenomenon. As an excellent, international journal of world-wide level, it adopts strict examination procedure, and selects articles, research reports and books reviews related to Chinese traditional opera, folk art forms, music, folk customs, religion and ritual. The Journal is featured in many special reports, unique articles. Meanwhile, the Journal usually holds international seminars so to communicate with global scholars and acquires plentiful manuscript source. The Journal has the honor to be included in database ¡§Taiwan Social Science Citation Index¡¨(TSSCI) and ¡§Taiwan Humanities Citation Index, Core Periodical¡¨(THCI Core). Plus, it was elected as ¡§the especially Superior Journal¡¨ awarded by National Science Council in 2010.
